Hi, this is Jim Ewan, I'm the head football coach at Chandler High School, and I want to announce our annual football fundraiser we’re kicking off this August. As you know the state of Arizona is facing significant cuts in budget that is effecting education at every level as well with athletics. We, for a number of years have tried to raise funds to supplement what we do here at Chandler High School. The first thing we try to commit money to is safety items and equipment. We put every quarterback, wide receiver, running back, defensive back, and linebacker in rib pads, and this costs money. We don't have football budget money for that we fundraise for this. We also put every offensive and defensive lineman and inside linebacker in knee braces, and this again costs money. We do these things to do everything we can to help prevent injuries of our players, and we need to supplement the budget we have because our budgets have drastically been cut for this school year as everyone is aware of. We also try and help supplement sending our players to camps and clinics, and try to help defray the cost of this. We want the football experience for our players here at Chandler to be a great experience for them, and we try to do those things that make the experience special. To do these things unfortunately takes money. Our fundraiser starts July 31st, so please keep a lookout for the team as they get our Chandler Gold Card out to the community.
